My manager sends out certains tasks out periodically. Rather than re-ytping
the same task message again (and again in a couple of months) - I am wondering if a task can be created and saved like a template to be used again, make minor changes, assign the task and send it out? Can this accomplished using forms (not really sure how to do create forms) Any ideas? Thank you |

Thank you You do this by filling out the task form with the text and stuff you want, then click Tools- Forms- Design this form. Once in Design Mode, you click Tools - Forms - Publish As and give the published form a name (myformname_Ver001), designate the library in which you publish it(choose the Exchange Forms Library), and then click Fire_in_the_Hold to complete the publication. If all this sounds strange to you, get your manager to bring in an Outlook/Exchange programmer from IT. Or let your manager do it, as managers already know how to cut cheese and walk and chew gum at the same time. -- Hollis Paul Mukilteo, WA USA |

Thank you Paul
I did manage to figure out part of that on my own - but your clarification of Publish As is also very helpful. Thank you very much!! Can't spend time to walk you through how to do this, but yes.
I would create a custom form with a custom action - "Create Task". That copies the task and then sends it out. You shouldn't need to customize the form beyond adding the code that drives the task. Quite coincidentatly, I need something quite similar and have already started working on it. If you can hang on till sometime next week, I might be able to come up with something for you. I have a Monday deadline that I'm working on through the weekend. David H "mcody" wrote: My manager sends out certains tasks out periodically.
