Hi

I'm new to Outlook forms, but have just about got the hang of it. The
problem I have is that I have designed a form which contains the To.. button
and To... text box and when I run the form from the designer using Forms/Run
Form, the Assign Task button is present on the ribbon at the top and it works
just fine.

However if I publish the form in a public folder, and then I or another user
loads this form using Tools/Forms/Choose Form then the Assign button is
missing.

Am I missing something here?

There is no ribbon in Outlook 2003, only 2007.

Try it with a standard task form, it's the same thing.

You can only assign a task that was opened in your default Tasks folder.

Publish the form to Organizational Forms or Personal Forms and open it in
Tasks and the same form will work as expected (never publish in more than
one library though).

Hi Ken

Thanks very much for your quick reply. I'd like to publish in the
Organisational Forms Library, but whe I try to do this, I get the error
message:

"Unable to successfully publish the form due to MAPI error. You don't have
appropriate permission to perform this operation"

After digging around the net a bit, I went into Exchange System Manager,
right-clicked on the Public Folders/View System Folder/right-clicked on
EFORMS Registry/New/Organisational form and created a new folder called
InvoiceRequest.

I still can't see this in Outlook. I've allocated Author status to myself
and all users, switched off Cached Exchange Mode in Outlook and as a last
resort, rebooted my PC and logged back on again.

I still can't see any folders on the Org Forms folder in Outlook.

If you have any bright sparks of wisdom, I'm all ears!

Why create another forms library? Outlook will use the default one anyway.
That permissions error means that you need owner rights on the
Organizational Forms Library to be able to publish a form there.
