Default VBA, User defined fields and color

I have been looking and looking to find a way to use color on a User defined field.
I know I can do it on a control bound to a field, but on a View, I would like to change Backcolor and Forecolor.
On User defined fields, I would like to change the Background color to say red and the foreground colr to Black to highlight the field.
Other than try to create a custom form for a view and using controls, which I dont know even if it can be done, doer anyone have any ideas on how to do this?
