Default Adding documents to a contact

Hi,

we want to add documents to a custom field in a contact. This works in the
standard notes field of the contact but not in our custom text fields,
because the add buttons to insert elements and objects are deselected.

Is it possible to do this with a custom field. Should I change the field type?
