Default outlook contact dialog

Hello,

I would like to add a button to the contacts dialog box (address book)
or to be able to add an additional tab to the contact properties dialog
box.

Thank you in advance if anyone knows of a way.

The address book display is not customizable, but the contact form is. See http://www.outlookcode.com/d/contactform.htm

Thank you for the link, I will get the book. I just want to confirm
the property pages / address book I would like to gain access to ...
when you create a new message .. click To.. the "Select Names" dialog
box opens then when you select a name and right click it opens the
contacts "properties" dialog box ..

Can either of these two dialog boxes be customized?

Many thanks,
sd

Not in Outlook. The Exchange administrator, however, can customize the template used to display details for addresses from the GAL.

I see, so I can develop an addin template of some sort and apply the
template in exchange???

Perhaps if I explain the need, that would make things easier ... I
appreciate all your feedback.

I have developed an Outlook 2003 add in that places an extra button on
the standard tool bar .. the add in displays the list of all Query
Based Distribution Lists available and accesses active directory to
dynamically display the members of the DL.

Having the button the the standard toolbar is not the most ideal
location as most users will be using the contacts listing dialog box to
select the DL they would like to email. Being able to customize
(programatically) either of the two dialog boxes explained above to
include either a button or custom control to display the members of
Query based distribution LIsts is what I am trying to achieve.

A Million thanks to your replies.

No, the customization of the Details dialog is done in the Exchange System Manager snap-in. You can't add buttons to it, just change the fields that are displayed.

In other words, what you want to do is not possible.
