Are Outlook and Outlook Express the same programs?
In reading the various discussions, I find references to Outlook. I use
Outlook Express 6. Are these the same programs? Reason for asking, I am trying to open/process an Outlook.pst file. I have it copied onto my HDD, the read-only attribute has been turned off. But I cannot get Outlook Express to "recognize" it as valid input. I am trying to do an "import" because I created the files on another computer using the "export" facility of Outlook Express 6. One of the appends I read said don't try to import it, open it instead using Outlook-file-open-. However in Outlook EXPRESS, file-open always opens whatever you are looknig at in OE at the time. It doesn't seem to give you an option to look at a file external to it. -- Roger

Are Outlook and Outlook Express the same programs?
No, they are completely different programs. Only Outlook, the program that is part of Microsoft Office, can open .pst files. OE can import it only if Outlook is present on the machine.

Are Outlook and Outlook Express the same programs?
You will also find no appointments and other additional stuff except
for mails and addresses in outlook express!
