Task Item UserProperties question

I need to add a user property to my TaskItems. How could I add it to the Task FOLDER so I can use the Restrict method to filter items? Also, if I add this user property to the folder, is there a way to have the property SET to a default value when a new item is created, .vs having to do it in code? Nevermind, I figured it out.
