Outlook 2007 says 'no email program associated'

I have just updated from Windows 7 RC to released version; trying to install
Office 2007 Enterprise. Outlook starts but gives me the following error
message:

"There is no email program associated...

My problem is that the list is over 200 names.

I am sending a postcard to 200 contacts in my contact folder--so I've
selected them and am making labels through Word. But I want a note to show up...

Can I link a Word Document to multiple contacts at the same time (a subset of
my entire contact folder?)

An acceptable alternate for my purpose would be a Journal Entry linked to
multiple contacts...
