In the situation, I can open Internet Explorer but no web pages load. All
the tabs have the same "cannot open the web page" message but I cannot
remember the wording.

Thanks all.
Outlook Calendar is the best I've found so far for my purposes so until I
find a similar or superior substitute I guess I'll have to live with the
problem.

Sorry PAB ! Windows XP home v5.1 SP2, IE7, Computer Associates Anti-virus 9,
only Defender, no 3rd Party firewall but Windows firewall switched on. Used

Outlook steals Outlook Express

In my experience Bruce, I think it "steals the default" every time Windows
Update updates, even if Outlook itself is not involved. And this behaviour
cannot be changed.
