you could:
paste into 'Paint' first (or any other picture editing program) Start
Programs Accessories Paint
choose Edit Paste
then using the Selection tool, select the required part, copy ...

I've given that a go, and again no joy - what's more
I (in desperation) tried various options in
Programs and Features as it's now called in Vista: Repair, Change, and even
Uninstall none of these...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Delivery\{90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
no joy
I've also searched the registry...
