How do I prevent IE6 from automatically "compacting"?

With all due respect to all of you, and I appreciate your attempts to help,
but I DO NOT WANT OE6 DOING ANY COMPACTING! I understand the need for this
but the way Microsoft designed the software...

How does OE6 do second level sorting?

I think you nailed it here with the "...Not selected Group messages by
conversion for the mail folder." except for some little flaws. It only seems
to work within the Inbox and its subfolders but...

Thanks but I tried all that first. I even tried holding the CTRL key while
selecting other columns! That would be a natural but it does not work
either.
