I though that once you did the workaround you mentioned -- getting the
dialog by opening Word -- it was no longer an issue for Outlook (i.e.:
it is Office-wide, and you can satisfy the evil patch...

Okay, I think I've found the answer.

As you may know, OL2007 uses Word (or a "stub" of Word, if you don't
have it) to display and edit messages. Hopefully you have Word;
otherwise I'm not sure how...

Are you installing any other Office 2007 apps? If so, try opening one

I believe that this is related to a recent patch, KB946983 (Outlook
2007 Update).

A dialog is supposed to collect your name and initials for Office
2007. You should be able to open another Office...
