I absolutely agree with you regarding the impaired functionality of the

Good call. Easier for most folks. However, the only issue I see is the size
of the PST file. Typically, they get rather large over time for the average
user. Data transfer on a 10 Mbit connection...

If I were in your Capezios, I'd set up two distribution lists so that you can
easily send to one group or both without having to select individuals each
time.

search and replace feature in Outlook Contacts
The only way that I can think of to perform this would be to export to Excel
worksheet, do a find/replace in that application and then re-import them into
your Outlook Contacts folder.

What programs are you using on both the old and new computer? MS Outlook? If
so, you can export your CONTACTS folder to an Excel workbook or CSV format.
Just choose FILE... IMPORT AND EXPORT and...

Do you mean OUTLOOK EXPRESS? That will import a VCF file fine. Just go to
TOOLS... ADDRESS BOOK. Then within that application, choose FILE... IMPORT
and point to the VCF card.
