Difficulty Downloading Mail

Still experiencing difficulties. This time I simply get a "Time out" fault
I have removed Norton E-mail scanning and tried re-booting

I have subscribed to 6 newsgroups
I only download headers
Some of my groups have 250,000 headers
Is there any way to limit the number of headers downloaded when I
