I have XP Home and the languages options in the Control Panel do not give me
the choice I want.

Besides, I have a feeling that my original messages explaining my 'problem'

When I view the calendar in Week mode it displays the dates, but not the
days of the week. Of course, in time you will get used to it and don't need
to count round from Monday to Sunday, but it...

Do you mean uncheck 'default reminder'?

I just don't want to be reminded at all about anything, and stop having the
boxes coming up reminding me of appointments.
