When I carried ou a "full installation" I can only assume that my old OE was

OEQuick Backup query

I have just downloaded OEQuick Backup, created a "Copmplete Backup" and
copied it to a memory stick.

If I now reinstall Windows XP, Download OEQuick Backup again, and use the
"Complete Restore"...

Don't recall ever moving the message store. here is the current location

--C:\Documents and Settings\Peter\Local Settings\Application...

Thanks Bruce managed to fet folders back, however interested in your comments
on a couple of points.

1) The .dbx files were not hidden in the message store and enabling and
disabling show hidden...
