New Outlook PST format

I've heard that Outlook 2003 can save in a new format so that the PST file can be greater than
2GBytes.

What if the old-format PST is much less than 2GBytes. Should one still switch? Are there any...

stolen laptop with sensitive Outlook emails

Thanks for your replies Brain + Peter.

128 bit encryption is presumably only as strong as the password.

What I'm suggesting is that someone could crack the password used for the 128-bit...

If you use encryption, what's to stop someone using a password cracker on the password that is used
for the encryption?

.PAB file

Thanks Brian, I will try that.

Out of curiosity, for which version of Office did the .PAB file stop being necessary? I gather that
it is no longer needed.

Large PST file

Thanks Brian. How well does the Unicode PST handle years worth of emails with lots of attachements,
compared to pre-2003 PSTs? Is it faster and more reliable?

How to properly transfer an outlook.pst file?

Doesn't your first method result in two PST files always being open in Outlook, with two sets of
inboxes, sent items, etc?

How to properly transfer an outlook.pst file?

Is there a problem with putting it in the default location (apart from the fact that it will not get
backed up unless I make a conscious effort to back it up)?
