Well regarding OE and Outlook in Win XP, there's file corruption. I suggest
you call MS for a manual un-installation of OE as the files have to be
removed manually and corrupted...

Seems there's some corruption with certain MAPI files wrt send/recv emails
in Outlook.
Try configuring the email account in Outlook Express and try to send some

Could you try running search for the file "Outbak.dll" (Search in hidden
directories as well) and rename it to '.old'.
Restart the machine and try installing again.

The Outlook pst files contains all your data pertaining to
contacts/emails/notes etc.
So you will have to run a search on your old hard-drive for *.pst making
sure the search checks all hidden...
